We have got to save money by cutting underperforming, expensive talent somewhere. That added constraint makes both of these positions just as big a need as IOL and IDL. I don’t think Darious is that underperforming guy considering he costs less / saves less to let go than the OL / WR vets, and was actually really good in 2022 and most of 2023 until Caldwell’s defense got exposed.

I do. I think Kris Richard can get Campbell and Darious back on track cause they were literally doing great for awhile.

Using that same past performance as a judgment point, I do NOT think Cam has shown me he’s ever going to “get it together”, Scherff’s clearly on the decline, Ridley’s gonna cost more than he should as a rusty player who’s already 30 and doesn’t even offer much more than Kirk offers. Kirk is also getting paid like a better receiver than he is.

from that perspective why aren’t we giving Little a chance? Cam Robinson the only guy who HAS had continuity and a chance to show he can be better than just an okay run blocker who gets burned by speed rushers. He failed, let the other cheaper guy who has *also looked really good at times*, a chance to gel.

Only if we take the least efficient path toward slimming down our salary cap.

I really feel as though beefing up Little’s ability to move guys (he’s still young and probably only lost strength from injury) isn’t as hard as trying to get Cam Robinson to have a better kick slide now at this point in his career. That is all you’re gonna get out of his kick slide. He’s gonna get flanked and he’s gonna over-set and then he’s gonna get beat inside, wash, rinse, repeat. Maybe it sounds bleak but playing tackle in the league is that hard, you have to be that strong and that agile, he’s not agile and he costs $20+ million a season. Move on.

 

Per game performance, adjusted for how many or how few touches a guy is getting because of other talent on the team, should matter more than stat padding, otherwise we would all agree Frank Gore is what, the #4 runningback of all time?

Scherff is probably gone. Kirk isn't even a top 15 contract. He's absolutely worth it.

Cam was suspended and then injured last year, not really continuity. I'd move on from Cam in a vacuum but in reality you're walking into this season with 4 new starters and the veteran on the line being a 22 year old 2nd year. That's a tough ask.

No, it's just actually a problem. Nor is it the least efficient path considering Darious comes with the least dead money.
