my band and my partner are LITERALLY the only thing holding me back.

 

I still like Baltimore but dammit I have to admit jobs aren’t going very well for me here. I’d not even think about leaving if I was still gainfully employed

 

I think they mean you're currently in lust with New York and to not make any rash decisions until you see it without it's makeup on and how it interacts with its mother.

 

I literally already live like a New Yorker, that’s the thing. That’s what this trip confirmed to me. I’m more built for / cut out for doing NYC as an artist almost any other person I know. And I’d at least like to think in NY it wouldn’t be this hard to find two restaurants that wanna hire a super experienced server and that charge a high enough price point to make hundreds per night in tips

 

If NYC is $3000 a month forget it but I’m finding that post inflation? The gap between Brooklyn and places I’ve already lived is not wide. It seems easier to find random medium-priced stuff there than in DC.

Rolling joints also takes a really long time and it’s not as easy as you think to keep them rolled nicely and not smushed when you’re out walking around NYC.

You saw how slow I can be transitioning from place to place, imagine if I said “hold up let’s put on half a record while I roll up”.

With the grinder and bowl I literally just step outside for 6-7 minutes whenever we’re hanging in one place or whenever I’m waiting for a friend to close out and go to the bathroom etc

 

Honestly weed becoming legal was huge for me cause now I can actually pull out a bowl and smoke real quick and it’s no big deal, instead of having to hope the joint is rolled well and doesn’t burn sideways and doesn’t burn too fast cause of the wind and random people asking me for hits etc etc

 

And put it like this, I’m gonna sit on my tax return. If anything happens to my band or my relationship or both I’m gonna move to New York motherfucker.
