Was looking at Demeco's wikipedia and wow this trade turned out wild

My dudes. I remember reading and hearing about how tight of a bond Lane and Brooks had. Truly awesome to see how well they connected on and off the field.

 

Now I’m trying to think of any players the Eagles let walk in free agency or traded away that I wish they hadn’t

Malcolm Jenkins is the first that comes to mind. Truly laughable that there was speculation that part of the reason they let him walk was because he was the leader of the defense and they wanted Carson Wentz to be the leader of the whole team, not just the offense lol

 

How did you feel about trading McCoy for Alonso and replacing him with Murray? I know that's a bit more of a nuanced one given the fact that it's RB musical chairs

Losing TJ Edwards and CJ Gardner-Johnson last year were bummers. They absolutely needed them this season. I don’t think Edwards is more than a solid/good LB because he’s limited athletically, but he was a good tackler. I thought some CJGJ’s interceptions with the Eagles were fluky, but his slot corner/safety versatility would have helped the Eagles a ton in the wake of Avonte Maddox’s injury

 

Also won’t catch me caring if the bengals do not sign higgins

 

I wasn’t as keyed into the team at that time. Was definitely more of a fantasy football guy and a casual Eagles fan. I didn’t think much of it at the time beyond being fine with it. I was always a bit bothered by McCoy’s off-field shit. Like, I remember hearing about him throwing a party at his place that only women were invited to (not sure if this was during his Eagles tenure or after it, but I remember being unsurprised at hearing about the party regardless). So I was like “Okay, whatever.”

Murray sucked though. Just as not a fit for the offense. Wild, in hindsight, that he actually complained to the owner about his usage and fit with the team and Chip Kelly lol

 

The change of scenery did him well, but oh my god my brain was melting over this one lol

 

They were never going to take Lamar after the season Wentz had, but I do still think about this trade from time to time lmao

Feels good man. Got a top 10, arguably top 5, TE in the league right now only for the team to forget that he exists half the time lol

 

It was a win though. Goedert has been good since his rookie year. I get why he sat for as long as he did because Zach Ertz was still churning out productive seasons for them. It’s just funny that the first year we was going to be the full-time starter for from week 1 was also the same year they traded for AJ Brown lol

If you’re looking at it from just an on-field perspective, yeah they should have. From an off-field perspective, I’m glad they took Smith

 

McCoy had some really gross dv issues, I was glad to see him go even though he was good at football.

 

I remember some people were losing their minds when the Eagles and Cowboys did a draft day trade on day three of the 2020 draft when the Cowboys traded up for Tyler Biadisz and I was like “Okay lol”

 

My stupid ass fantasy baseball league wants to do a live offline draft ugh

I love it for football but I know like 2 of the people in this baseball league. And I also haven’t watched a baseball game in like 10 years so rely on ADP to draft lol
