man, as someone who has followed The Ringer since its inception, seeing the stuff from their union about their current collective bargaining talks and the pushback they're getting from Ringer/Spotify management sucks. Kinda bums me out to listen to their pods/read their articles

 

I know it's not uncommon in the "content" industry but it still sucks

fields is not worth less than darnold

 

Idk, I feel like if Chicago tells me "Yeah, Darnold went for a 6, a future 2 and a future 4" my response would be "And the guys who did it got fucking fired" and hang up the phone. Value is a relative thing, in my opinion.

 

But also, what the fuck do I know, the Steelers never fire anyone so it may not matter if it works out or not haha

 

Yeah 3 QBs for sure. But they’ll probably get like Dobbs back or a late round guy there. I guess Tannehill is an option with Smith around, but that excites me less than Rudolph right now.

If I'm Atlanta, who I've said is the only fit I really think will work, I think a 3rd and a future idk 5th or higher is about my ceiling to get it done.

 

Rodgers went for a second and a future second essentially just last year (which you could argue packers sold low but who's to say) hes probably a few steps above fields so a second/fourth for fields doesn't seem out of the realm of possibilities.

 

Similar to the Rosen thing. But also, Fields is substantially better than Rosen and Darnold and Pickett and Mac and Zappe so

Yeah, I think that Rosen trade is kind of an outlier though...but for years, the standard for like "solid starting QB team is dumping for a younger" guy was like a 2nd rounder. Matt Schaub going from ATL->HOU. Cassel was a 2nd. Colts traded a 3rd for Matt Ryan. Alex Smith to the Chiefs was 2nd rounders.

Shit, Washington gave up a 2nd rounder every couple of years to get their QBs (McNabb, Alex Smith, Wentz)
