    there is one way out

I’m still sticking with my prediction that Pittsburgh rolls into the season with Rudolph and Pickett as their top two QBs.

This seems the most likely outcome, and also why I'd rather them take a shot at Fields. The defense could be otherwordly and that's nothing more than a 10-7 team that doesnt make it past the divisional round.

I don't really have a take on Fields until I know what his actual price would be

He's not a franchise guy probably but would be an improvement but also could be expensive to acquire but also teams/fans overvalue draft picks SO I don't know shit

My line is the Steelers 2nd round pick (so, like #50ish), and something mid-round conditional for 2025 (3rd, etc...basically what they could make back in compensatory, etc).

And I'd think of him as being bought for 2 years for a different look than what we have now. He's ~$3mil this year and his 5th year option is like $25mil, so, still way cheaper than starting QB money. Would actually be fine with them doing a lesser extension that maybe adds a 3rd year, do like 3/$50 or 3/$60 and front loads a signing bonus and gives us all future upside if he pans out. Steelers have all the skill position talent to support him. And a top 5-10 defense that keeps him from having to play from behind in every game.

Its also why I want nothing to do with a Wilson or Rodgers type guy; they cost a ton upfront in both picks AND cap space.

  21. Pickett, tannehill, and maybe a late draft pick. They like 3 qbs.

Yeah I totally agree. I think it's a good situation with that defense and WR setup and he could work. I just have no idea what the cost looks like because it feels like the cost for a QB is all over the place. I think your line is reasonable

I think the draft being QB deep and the fact that the Bears have the #1 pick drive his price down. Like, Schefter wasnt saying "they expect #1 pick level value" with multiple 1sts, etc. He just said "maybe a 1st".

Rodgers was a 2nd, 6th, and a conditional 2nd (I guess also that swap of 1st round picks, but thats nothing really). Feels like thats in the ballpark of expected price, where Rodgers is obviously way more proven, but older and more expensive on the cap

I just remember that Rosen, in the situation of the Cardinals having #1 overall, was ALSO a 2nd and looked a lot worse than Fields haha (granted that was a lot earlier in his contract, and was a lot less deep of a QB draft)

Before Chicago traded their 2nd my guess was Fields + 2 for 1
