What does it matter if the Steelers win a game 24-10 with fields or 13-10 with Pickett. Fields might be an offensive improvement because of his running ability but he’s not getting the Steelers a home playoff game and he’s not beating the chiefs or bengals in the playoffs.

the task is to win the division and to be able to beat the chiefs. The Steelers team is not good enough to be able to carry fields and fields isn’t good enough to be able to carry the Steelers.

 

I don't understand what the plan is then. Wait for Tomlin go quit? Just keep trotting out Pickett for three more years then take another Pickett?

 

You’re normally very opposed to investing in QBs who aren’t good enough, so I’m surprised you want the Steelers to trade away a semi valuable resource for a not good enough QB to replace a not good enough QB.

Trading for fields sets you back further because you’d have to extend him to try and make it worth it plus give up picks whereas you’d move on from Pickett after this season

It makes as much sense running it back with Kenny, who is not good enough, as it does trading a 3rd round pick for Justin Fields, who is better, but still is not good enough.

The only team that should actually be thinking about Fields is the Falcons.
