I think Rams are capable of staying competitive during a rebuild though. I mean, it kinda what’s happening now right? They are early stages of building a new roster.

 

This is a big year for Mike McDaniel too. He's proven to be really great playcaller, but he has to get the defense right.

Fangio looked like an awesome hire and that blew up.

 

I don’t know what happened exactly with Fangs but people in Miami seem to be happy he’s gone. Doesn’t mean everything was his fault. But clearly they weren’t all on the same page. And that defense was decimated by injuries toward the end of the season.

But yeah, McDaniel has been good overall. Having a new DC every year (when they aren’t being hired away) is a problem.

 

idk, I still think the career scenario where Mahomes battles injuries beginning next year through an inconsistent early 30s doesn’t finish in the top 3 and crowning him before then is projection/guessing more so than something actually earned yet

I mean, the reality is he'd be better than our current QB, he'd dramatically open up the run game, and he'd be dirt cheap still for 2 years total. All comes down to price.

A 2nd rounder this year and some conditional pick in 2025 based on performance or being extended or whatever, I'd do it. Wouldnt do it for our first rounder when we badly need that to be an O-lineman who keeps Fields alive.

And then having Pickett as the backup is kinda solid.

 

Fields on the Steelers would be pretty good imo. Having to defend a 3-headed monster of Fields-Najee-Warren would be tough. I don't think Arthur Smith is the greatest OC by any means, but that would be a good group to work with for him

 

Smith wouldnt let najee or warren play tho

 

Like, current Steelers roster is 2-3 steps behind the Chiefs/Ravens. Rather them take a shot for something exciting than stand pat and wait for 2 very dynamic, young QBs to magically not be MVP players for the next decade.

 

Fields on the Steelers just seems like a decent idea to me
