I mean, INTs and sacks are still a pretty good indicator of a good defender lol. Just cause you can’t simplify it to “16 sacks > 14 sacks so player A is better” doesn’t mean it doesn’t factor in heavily

I’ve always claimed Josh Allen underperforms in sacks because he doesn’t have help but at the same time… the two years he’s had help he had double digits, so these things tend to even out and explain themselves long term.

Fewer sacks / INTs doesn’t at all mean a guy sucks, could he situational, could be supporting cast, could be how that guy is used or how much opponents try to shut that guy down… but a lot of sacks / INTs definitely means a guy is good

 

In skill yes. In legacy, once he wins another Super Bowl pretty much yes.

However, it is slightly worth noting that Manning was arguably the earliest influence on the modern spread offense NFL. So, kinda like a “Manning walked so Mahomes could run” sorta thing.

 

More sacks and INTs is also situational. And the thing you've talking about "evening out" is he was always an efficient rusher who racked up pressures. Things can even out in the opposite direction for an inefficient guy too
