The Big Brains* in this thread will come for me but why do I care about "pressures" without any context of how the play ended up. Oh cool you pressured the QB but they still threw a completed pass or scrambled for a first down. Or you pressured the QB and forced him to throw an incompletion, INT, into a sack for someone else, etc. Does anyone have that data?

But what is the objective metric for a pressure. If a play is designed to let someone through because its moving to another side of the field but the guy is "pressuring" the QB, are they counting it? It just seems so subjective. That's why I like things simple like sacks or completion % or YPA, etc. They're objective. No room for interpretation. I get that analytics nerds like to create things that may or may not have value, but at the end of the day I think the more objective metrics show you what we all know to be true.

And I don't care if Watt wins or not. He's won already and Garrett, Parsons etc are all great. Just seems we've jumped the shark on analyzing players imo.
