I don’t even ask to be on these, the people who come to these open mics are the ones who literally vote me on so often so it’s just stupid that when the showcase actually happens we always get dumb luck. Next time I get voted on I’ll probably just decline. I don’t need an open mic showcase on my band’s calendar. Always feels like a waste of promo effort for a show that doesn’t even do anything for us. Much rather just spend more effort promoting my much bigger, ticketed, headlining show at the 3x the size venue down the street lmfao. Hard not to laugh at how dumb that irony is.

 

Getting voted onto a showcase once probably means you’re good, because it’s one out of TWENTY artists per open mic. It’s not like the other artists at showcases are a slouch. It means they captivated the whole crowd one of the times they went to open mic.

But Terrain has been voted on several times since I moved here, there’s just no way I’m not one of people’s favorite artists that goes to that open mic period. You’d think we’d at least PLACE THIRD in ONE OF the showcases
