i “trust myself” in the sense that I generally understand the draft tendencies of the Ballard Colts, sometimes can pinpoint what they perceive as draft needs, and very loosely understand how players might or might not fit in what they do or are trying to do

I don’t trust myself in that I don’t have nearly the level of information needed nor do I spend enough time on it to have an actually good opinion on any specific player

 

You always seem to accurately guess the Colts 2nd rounder lol

 

Last year —
- I don’t think they could have been more transparent on AR if they tried
- Brents was the most Ballard pick possible
- Downs threw me for a loop (in a good way, I figured they’d err on the side of adding a big slot if they addressed WR, given how much they’ve emphasized length with their other WR picks)

I’m the opposite.

I trust myself that examining multiple games of college film, and prioritizing games against tough matchups, is a pretty good way to decide if a dude’s stand-out good or not.

We don’t have all the context / playcalls but,

HOWEVER, all that said, while I am pretty good at picking out the players I *want* the Jags to target… I am very bad at predicting the galaxy brain decision they will ACTUALLY make lol and you’re VERY good at that with the Colts

I remember you called Brents pretty immediately. Bernhard Raimann the year before. I don't remember 2021 or 2020 but I remember Ben Banogu as well.

I do think you do a good job of weeding out overhyped guys or making good distinctions on guys that Draft Media lumps together!

The main things I’m referring to are football acumen/character and medicals. I can tell you at the most high level (ie. Michael Penix is a walking medical bill) and maybe a little bit of the former comes out on film through taking off plays, etc, but those are pretty huge factors in the equation that are basically just a wild guess for me, since I’ll never speak to any of these people, am not sourced, and anything that comes out through the media is just as likely to be smokescreen vs a legit concern (and I appreciate when Night Channels has opinions on that specifically in the draft thread)

 

I bet the Raiders reach on every selection and then blame it on the GM not having enough time to get his board together.

 

Also, my dad won't shut the fuck up about Bo Nix being the Josh Allen of this class.
