I loved Take This to Your Grave but never cared for anything after that.

 

Loosely defining this as “pop-punk” cause imo very melodic post-hardcore music is a form of punk being made more pop sensible

also here’s a take

the lyrics and vocals of pop punk bands are WAY BETTER and less gimmicky post-2016 than the stuff we grew up on

 

I’m the exact opposite, enjoyed FOB from Cork Tree on but never liked Take This to Your Grave

yeah Take This To Your Grave is not good and is carried entirely by the drummer

 

Pretty much exactly the same. Then I started listening to Radiohead and Fugazi and everything changed hah

Newer pop punk bands are far and away better than the ones we grew up with, but I feel like that's normal, no?

FOB was overrated. Never got into anything after Cork Tree. Did enjoy SRR tho. Granted, I always have been a big Yellowcard fan so my taste is purely subjective.
