That's one game. If you watched much of CJ Stroud's season you know that's not how most of it went. Stroud was making extremely difficult plays a lot of the time.

The Campbell takes are interesting too. I don’t really have complaints with either of the big FG-related decisions. I get both sides of the argument there.

The only play I didn’t get was running it on 3rd down at the end and having to burn a timeout.

Honestly blaming Campbell and not Aaron Glenn sure is a take

 

i don't mind the other one but choosing not to kick it from 48 to go up 17 is baffling to me. talking like the kicker is a bum when it's like a 78% hit rate is weird.

and yeah the final two minutes was horrendous

 

I get that Glenn was a former player and we love former players getting coaching opportunities

but can anybody admit he was a horrible defensive coordinator instead of myopically blaming the talent on that side of the ball? They weren't a talentless defense. They definitely played worse than they should be.

 

Like, it is honestly shocking the Lions GOT this far with a defense that forced their offense to score 30 points a game

expecting the Lions offense to do it again, against the 49ers in the NFCCG, is wildly unrealistic. They were up 24-7. Any competent defensive playcalling can protect that lead.

I think if anything it's fair to blame management for not truly addressing the kicker position and putting the team in the position where kicking from 41-50 is THAT scary of an idea, and yeah blame Campbell for the run in the RZ

The game has miracle potential if they have all 3 timeouts, instead he forced the team to waste one

But yes Aaron Glenn is also 100% at fault
