Because certain people couldn't have been more excited to include him in the MVP conversation because, and I don't want to pry into their personal lives, but I'm assuming Kevin McAllister threw a brick at their head or something.

  3. I don’t disagree with how you described Brock. But I always push back when people bring up his roster and the talent around him. Majority of the top teams also have stacked talent on offense. And all of those QBs would look worse if they didn’t have those pieces.

But for some reason people really harp on that with Brock more than anyone. It’s like people look for any reason to discredit him. Last night he led his team to a huge comeback win. It wasn’t just him. And they had some breaks go their way. But that’s the case for any big comeback. And he made big time plays in the process. Yet I get online and people are still finding ways to knock down his performance.

The whole thing is just fascinating to me more than anything lol

I don't know if that's equivalent. Ravens and Chiefs for example did not have the stacked skill position talent that the 49ers have. It was their QB, TE, and defense that made them both so good.

And Purdy’s mobility is a trump card of his. It’s awesome to see. It’s what sets him apart from Jimmy. He’s able to extend plays in a way Jimmy wasn’t able to.

when I said limited mobility, I meant athletically

knowing how to use your slow stubby legs to shift in the pocket and having a sense of defenders around you is more mental than physical imo, which falls under him "making smart decisions and keeping composure despite limited mobility". His mobility's still "limited" but he makes the most of it.

for example: Peyton Manning had incredible pocket presence but absolutely NOBODY is calling his slow ass "mobile" lol

  16. I think those two are good examples of the outliers. But I’d still say they have really good teams as a whole and neither QB was doing it alone (which I know you aren’t saying). But in Brock’s case, it just feels like people set such a high bar and they won’t accept any praise toward him until he does it completely on his own.

I don’t know what it is. I’m not trying to catapult Brock into the elite conversation. I just don’t like how the weird standard we’ve created for him, and seemingly only him.

I think you can defeat a genius with a genius

the problem is you have to also beat ANOTHER genius (Andy Reid) with ANOTHER genius

    lmfaooooooo I love George Kittle

I'm in a weird place. I'm very salty the superbowl is going to be KC / SF cause we already had that and I'm getting sick of both teams. I would've graded either Baltimore OR Detroit making the Superbowl an A.... neither of them making it makes it automatically a D-minus because of my rooting interests.

But I still actively like a lot of both teams' players lol

it's because we've seen several other barely-in-the-nfl level qbs put up decent numbers (usually for short periods of time) in Shanahan's system. there was a Bill Barnwell article a few months back that showed 49ers have been better with Purdy than all of those random guys, which is obviously to Purdy's credit

but if Brock was on KC, even with the GOAT TE and a solid OL, he wouldn't be doing this. it's fine, he was a 7th round pick qb for many reasons

  25. I’ll use one more example and then bolt because it’s going to sound blasphemous.

CJ got high, high praise for his big win over Cleveland. And he was awesome in that game. But his 3 TDs were all very easy plays for him. Two were like 3 yards of air total with the receivers making plays to the endzone. The third was a wide open deep shot. All we heard was how amazing CJ was. Nothing about throwing to open receivers or his weapons making plays for him.

Brock wouldn’t have gotten the same praise. It would’ve been about the play designs and weapons making plays.
