As for coaching, I really do think he might just be a better fit at OC than HC. I liked his offense in Tennessee a lot

 

Hasn’t Kyle Pitts been injured for most of the last two seasons? Wasn’t Tyler Allgeier good in his rookie season?

 

Oh yeah, I probably wouldn’t have noticed him if it wasn’t from fantasy dorkness. Then once I started paying attention to his media availability, it was very off putting

Tannehill ranked first in yards per completion (9.6), Henry ranked first in yards per carry (5.1) among backs with at least 200 carries, and A.J. Brown finished second in yards per reception (20.2)

Tennessee ranked 12th in total offense last season with a total of 5,805 yards, 21st in passing offense (3,582 yards) and third in rushing offense (2,223 yards). The Titans’ 25.1 points per game ranked 10th.

 

Pitts seemed to not be healthy this entire season

Yeah the way he talked down to beat writers as if they weren’t watching the same film of Ridder as he was this season was one of my biggest red flags of him

because the Falcons offense was not very good, and he does not know how to use their best playmaker(s) properly.

plus he seems like a straight up disrespectful dickhead

 

People seem to think the Steelers like Kubiak which would make sense why they’ve been a little slow in the process.

 

Falcons also did not have a good QB his tenure there. How many times were we all in here saying Desmond Shitter because he turned it over 3 times a game in the red zone or whatever

 

Of course he wouldn’t have a good qb in Pittsburgh either

 

Was the Falcons offense not good because they were starting a washed up Matt Ryan, Marcus Mariot, Desmond Ridder, and Taylor Heinicke throughout Smith’s tenure?

And what is the best way to use his best playmakers properly? People complained about Bijan Robinson all season, but Tyler Allgeier was good as a rookie! He was never going to magically disappear just because they drafted Bijan. People complained about Kyle Pitts and Jonnu Smith. There were concerns about Pitts returning from his 2022 injury heading into this past season. I’m pretty sure Pitts himself commented about the injury at the end of the season and how it affected him throughout 2023

I just feel like the “He didn’t use his playmakers properly” is ignoring the context of the individual players. And I don’t want you or anyone to think I’m just outright defending him. He’s worth criticizing over how he handled the QB situation the last two seasons and how he handled himself with reporters. That shit is not good, but I really feel like playmaker argument is misguided

unfortunately I don’t see any way the Steelers don’t give Pickett one more year under a real OC. wonder what the 2025 free agent class looks like for qbs lol.

I don't think Allgeier is bad. He had a nice rookie year. But he averaged 3.7 ypc this year while Bijan averaged 4.6 (on 28 more carries, mind you). You picked this guy in the top 5, give him the work!

They picked London and Kyle Pitts in the top 7 or 8 and they only gave them a handful of targets per game.

I get that the QB play isn't the best, but again hitching your wagon to Ridder also is an indictment on the coach. I don't think Heinecke is any good but at least he has some small amount of success in this league. Ridder is an XFL level QB.
