Why do we care so much about QB age for prospects/young QBs? It’s harped on so much, but outside of being a proxy for raw talent (a 20-21 year old QB has to be a certain level of good for it to be worth leaving college football) or lack thereof, does it really matter if your QB’s best case scenario has him good for 15 years instead of 12?

 

It can be used to project ceiling. If the 20 year old is already as good as the 24 year old, the idea is think how good he'll be in 4 years. It's really just an issue if it's a long time starter who showed little to no improvement over 4+ years of starting

does the development curve slow between ages 24-27 vs 20-23? Without any proof to support this, I feel like QB development would correlate much closer with NFL reps over time than with age, and they all have 0 going in
