i came very close to getting in real trouble once but i was very drunk and don't remember most of it lol

it was peppermint schnapps in my friend's basement on spring break 2010

 

i didnt drink until summer after senior year when friends of mines parents let us at their house.

coors lite and mikes hard cranberry were two of my first adult beverages.

 

I didn't drink until about that time too cause I thought alcohol was terrible because all that was in my house was regular Bud and banana liqueur

 

all good causes

 

I had my first beer when I was 13 but then didn’t have another one until freshman year of college

I did NOT like college party vibes and didn’t actually become someone who intentionally drinks for fun, rather than just out of peer pressure, until I moved off campus with two musicians junior year

that was a fun time but that close friend of mine eventually years later turned into a raging alcoholic with volatile anger issues and a tendency to emotionally break down the people around him, so I’m glad I got away from that once it really started not feeling good. That was in fact one of the catalysts to me moving back home to Florida and starting over at 25

Now my relationship with alcohol is very casual, I’ll drink when I’m out but only 2-3 most of the time, I don’t drink at home by myself, however I will “accidentally” get drunk in a social setting where my friends are all drinking and having fun and that’s fine once in awhile but I don’t enjoy it when it starts becoming a routine. So I go through phases where I just stop drinking.

First drink was senior year. My dad’s scotch lol.

Side note, this is probably 40% of the reason I am quick to take Matt (or Dave or whoever) snarky words as disrespect & get defensive really fast, definitely trying to be more cognizant of WHY that’s a trigger lately

 

the “doing agents favors” interviews are stupid, but I’m all for teams re-assessing their priors and seriously considering names that wouldn’t necessarily be at the top of most conventional/consensus lists

 

Probably this, it was one of his regulars until he switched to gin.

I didnt really bother trying to drink until 21. My parents didn’t drink and my friends all had at least one parent who was was an alcoholic.

never felt the incentive to try it before. And when I did never got into the taste. So to me it’s an expensive drink I don’t enjoy.

 

this specific post gets me like no other post does. This is why I didn’t get a tech job out of college.

 

yeah i mean you have to interview for jobs lol

 

It’s based on so many things that aren’t about your aptitude for the job. I’m great at standing out if I can be trusted to learn something or do something. I’m not great at standing out when nepotism / connections and subtle social cues are the way forward.

My first drink was a Bacardi & Coke from my step dad's bar sometime in high school. Had no idea how much of each I was supposed to mix & didn't drink again until I was in my 20's after that.

 

My first drink was champagne I think? Not sure. Come from a family of alcoholics so I was never too interested in it and now I just drink here and there.

We keep getting ants coming out of our floorboards and they KEEP going to our cat’s dry food. Just coming home from work or waking up to his food bowl covered.

It’s escalated while I have been away but the traps are out and they found the trap!
