he was a part of famous christian music group DC Talk (mostly known for the song Jesus Freak) and then went on to a very very successful solo career for the last idk 20 years or so

DC Talk was huge, back before 8th grade when I still only listened to Christian music lol

 

was very big into Hawk Nelson, Thousand Foot Krutch and Decyfer Down. I think I saw DD like 3 or 4 times before I was 16

they were very short lived and not all that big but Capital Lights was probably my favorite of those Tooth & Nail bands

listened to HIs Favorite Christmas Story on christmas and got all teary eyed

 

I would not say I was ever a "believer" but was around it a lot, but one specific moment at a church camp when I was 15 or 16 I remember being VERY overcome with emotion during a worship service and a couple of days later I was like oh, this is why cults work, got it

 

yeah nah i was a member of and then a coordinator of a youth group for a total of like 15 years lol used to be way more religious and then completely fell out of it for mostly personal reasons.

I probably stopped attending regularly when I was 17, I assume due finally having my own car/self-reliance and not just being dumped at the chandler first united methodist church on wednesday nights
