I don't think it's fair at all. We can say it didn't work out yeah but the idea that we did nothing is just objectively false.

I don't like Baalke and want him gone as well but fans have zeroed in on him and can't think of anything other than Baalke bad, when the problem is much larger than that. Re-signing Cam was an obvious move that anyone would make. Scherff hasn't been elite but he's still been out best lineman.

That's true of literally everyone all the time. You also said you weren't worried about Joey Porter's penalties earlier.

 

I like Dan Quinn a lot, I do, but I'm just not supportive of retreads anymore. You want a great DC? MacDonald is right there bb. And I'm going to immediately contradict myself but Raheem Morris too.

 

That's a positive, if a guy can get away with holding you absolutely take him. Green Bay built their entire team around that way back when and it would've paid off if Rodgers wasn't a fraud

 

I do have this on the to do list to look at at some point. Or I may finally just remove twitter embeds completely, since those seem to be the ones fucking up the most.

I never said we did “nothing” to be clear. I said verbatim that we spent too much on underwhelming moves. We did too much and not enough of it was actually a good move.

tbh we should’ve chose Walker Little if there wasn’t a big difference between him and Cam. That’s what smart teams entering a window do - go with the young cheap talent if there’s not that big of a difference, because you can be on the right side of a development arc rather than on the wrong side of a decline, while giving your QB some reps with a guy you’re not just gonna cut when it’s time to resign the QB.

Little was underwhelming in his starting time this year himself - but I can’t help but think part of the reason is he has literally not had continuity with an offensive line for more than a couple games since, like, 2018. If we ever gave him a real fucking chance to start and not just fucked around with him being a swing tackle / trying him at guard he might not have taken a step back.

Instead we stunted his development and played him at positions he’s not comfortable in cause we hung on to a not-quite-good enough tackle that we’re paying pro bowl money to just because he’s a “vocal leader”

that’s not saying much though! He’s only a marginally better lineman than Cam or rookie Anton. Nobody is good enough, only guy who MIGHT be is that rookie but it’ll take some time, and the best guy this shit line has is an old, oft-injured guard that is owed $23M dollars. That’s not good.

Every good physical corner gets penalized at a higher rate than non physical corners. Comes with the territory cause you’re always pushing that boundary.

L’Jarius Sneed is a perfect example. & I also think Porter Jr will get better at walking that line now that he has a firmer idea what the NFL will and won’t call.

Holding from an OL, though, just means you’re doing it wrong if it shows up too much.

 

Someone who likes math too much and has nothing to do needs to figure out our average words per post (minus Randall) and convert Randall's post count based on the average
