Can you advise @CarpetElf and @Randall Mentzos to argue less and @Sean Murphy to do less bits so I can feel comfortable doing that

 

Must be fun dreaming of your team using their $60+M in cap space (or their $15M in the case of JAX) to make drastic team improvements

Baalke isn’t one of the worst GMs in the NFL to be clear, his moves mostly “made sense at the time”, but you need to be one of the better GMs in the NFL big-picture to have long term success.

Baalke’s moves, while individually justifiable.. and while he had a couple good signings like Foye, Darious, Engram and was right to replace Jawaan Taylor…

in the big picture he spent way too much on average talent and thought putting free agents in 70% of our holes would carry us through our window. In my opinion that is a big mistake, not enough of his signings were slam dunks and too many of them were overpaying a declining or hardly above average player.

We should’ve drafted to fill holes and then signed depth, not the other damn way around. Now we have to get rid of a lot of “didn’t quite cut it” talent he signed cause it costs too much to be missing the playoffs with, and open up almost all of those holes again. To the point it’s too many holes to fix in a draft. Right when our current drafted roster & Trevor should be entering its peak and getting extended if we did this correctly.

Anton was the best rookie tackle this year and there were multiple taken in the top ten. By all means, that is good.

Yeah Fortner sucks. You don't replace a 3rd round starter after one year though. Let's be fair about this.

He still played quite a bit last year and Tyler Linderbaum wasn't even an offensive lineman until his 2nd year in college.

His pass protection is excellent. On top of zero sacks, he's allowed four pressures total in his career. He's legit. If a one year starter can have a better season than both Linderbaum and Creed, that's extremely impressive.

He was hovering around 45% on average.

 

i'll give you the holding bit on JPJ though. My boy Linderbaum was clean af.

 

It actually is pretty impressive Randall and Matt argue the way they do and still don't crack top 3 thread posters, the trio is unhinged

Pretty fair to say if it comes after like 4-5 underwhelming OL moves that didn’t totally work out. That’s the “we didn’t do this” part.

Not critiquing how much money we gave B-minus talent in Cam and aging Scherff is still a weird look. We paid them like pro bowlers.

Im just saying, I saw a lot of holding that didn’t get called. he’s good but I don’t think our first round pick should take him

IND is good for
- pissing off Michael Pittman Jr with their offers, franchising him, and having him hold out until whenever the deadline is for extensions on the franchise tag
- signing a cornerback over 30 (Xavien Howard once Miami cuts him?) to a pretty expensive two year prove it deal
- offering slightly below market value to all their veteran FAs and hoping that a couple of them bite if their markets don’t heat up
- a couple of mid-level FA signings where your response is “ok”
- carrying a $25M balance into the 2024 season
