matt patricia sucks and goddamn i don't want to play a character here but I can't fathom being an eagles fan and not being incredibly excited if Bill and McDaniels come on board. the roster's already there and Howie's not going anywhere. you get only the good half of Bill, of which he is still one of the very best. McDaniels is a joke of a head coach but a damn good coordinator. your super bowl odds over the next two-three seasons increase like a hundred fold, i really do hate to say it

Just feels like a situation that might be nice for a couple seasons and wear out quickly, that’s all. I recognize how great of a defensive mind Bill has been and I’m not discounting what McDaniels can do as an OC. I’m just concerned about what the culture would be like.

 

I don’t think Bill has more than a couple seasons left anyways haha, once that record is broken I can’t imagine him going on much longer

 

Bill is old and obviously some of the shine is off so I get it, but if I were trying to maximize a window that's open now and any rebuilding didn't revolve around find WRs, I think it's worth the uncertainty of the aftermath. I'm also kinda unconvinced the record's the main driver of him keeping on - I think if he lands on his feet he gives it 4-5 more years barring major health decline, I think he honestly just loves football and can't picture not doing it.

Atlanta has to be the favorite right now given their interest, but I think any of Dallas/Philly/Buffalo get really interesting if they get bounced in embarrassing fashion.
