FWIW i've heard some media people say he seems to be a great guy in interviews and players voted him as one of the best assisant coaches I think, so on-field product may not be an indicator of his quality as a coach

Okay so thread gossip about league drama storytime. I'ma spoiler tag it in case you don't care to read it but here we go:

Our good thread member JR started a Pokemon draft league in late 2019-ish because it seemed like a fun thing to do, and it was. He had a decent amount of people join including me and Member 1 (who I will also use the alias of JokeW for). Member 1 and I got along pretty well at first honestly. They were a very good player and for the first season went to the finals against a friend who I will refer to as Member 3. JokeW lost to Member 3, which happens, and all was good and we decided to kick off a second season. In the second season, JokeW and Member 3 are scheduled to play again, and JokeW actually beats Member 3 this time. However, in the playoffs, JokeW loses to Randall, who goes to the championship game against me. (I won a championship then wooooooo!)

Season 3 rolls around and at this time Member 2 joins who I will refer to as Olino. Olino and I don't really click well but I do think we try to get along well, and it goes okay. I think either this or the season after is the season that spiffa joins. Spiffa doesn't have a good record to start out, and neither does Olino, but their record is better than spiffa's at this time. Eventually they play against each other, and spiffa gets a big win that goes down to the wire. This is also the season where I get a big upset against JokeW that was honestly a bigger comeback than 28-3. Member 3 wins this championship, and we continue on.

At this time, there are 3 people who "mod" for the league: JR the owner, me, and Member 3. Olino reports to Member 3 that they suspect Spiffa was having other members help him in his match against Olino, and names me specifically. Member 3 looks at the replay of the match and determines that there was no foul play based on the moves being used, but promises to remind the league not to do this. Everyone in the league responds to this like "yeah obviously". At this time I don't know about Olino's report.

JokeW creates his own league sometime after this and I happen to be in it. I lose a playoff seed tiebreaker because JokeW changes the scheduling rules before the last week of the season which put me and my opponent in a position where due to our schedules, we can't play our last match. I offer to forfeit and also DQ myself from the playoffs (I would've been 4th seed with the forfeit but I thought it was unfair to get in on a forfeit) and leave the league. Anyway. Important thing is this discord for JokeW's league had a channel with a lot of us from JR's league in it. In this channel, people are shooting the shit, talking shit sometimes (I'm not innocent in this, I definitely feed off the energy of people around me and that's bad and why I try to be better about it lately), and having a good time.

One day, on the day of Derek aka dadbolt's funeral, I'm heading out to Breckenridge TX to pay respects when JokeW and Olino start talking about Spiffa and being very rude. I then see Olino post "I swear he cheated against me" and as that happens I see Member 3 leave because they're tired of this shit. I also leave because I very obviously disagree that he cheated and think the accusation is completely baseless. At this point I'm done with this draft league but open to playing elsewhere. Member 3 and I start talking privately and I'm just really pissed off about it. Then Member 3 tells me the full story of the report and that Olino thinks I was feeding him moves. He then says that JokeW had been sharing the replay of Spiffa and Olino's match to other draft league discords asking them if they think he cheated. Extreme "I talked to everyone at this party and no one likes you!" vibes. This pisses me off bigtime because not only does it mean they believe something as baseless as this but that they're convincing complete strangers to feel this way about us when I, as a pretty good draft league player, might want to play elsewhere at some point, and making an entire community toxic towards spiffa and I before we even have a chance is some serious bullshit.

Member 3 also mentions that JokeW said that I was cheating by fixing the schedule every season so that he had to play Member 3. Which is a stupid accusation because 1. the schedule partly has performance based seeding, aka if JokeW and Member 3 finish 1st in their divisions they're going to play each other a la NFL, and 2. I DID NOT MAKE THE SCHEDULE. I had a friend in the draft league randomize the schedule each season because that person was better than me at arranging details especially in a league with Byes and making sure that everyone has an even playing field in terms of number of games in a week. That's the point where I cut both of them off forever and quit playing as a whole. At first it felt like "letting them win" and maybe even being overdramatic (it probably was), but it also just sucked so much of the joy out of it. I like to be competitive because I want to better myself, they liked to be competitive because they cared about their ranking on a website, and I just wanted nothing to do with that anymore.

 

perfect lol then they can draft the guy who came in for Caleb Williams in the bowl game this year at #5 next draft after Eberflus blows 6 ten point leads, goes 1-5 against the division, and let’s Jordan Love throw 700 combined yards and 8 TDs against them.

Honestly though that’s probably a better outcome than letting this current staff develop a top QB so

It's bullshit how the media just pays no attention to the Patriots so we can't get any information

all sarcasm aside, the pats know who theyre bringing in, its one of like 3 guys. theyre gonna do formality interviews but, theyre obviously in no rush to begin requesting interviews.
