They seem pathologically committed to finding a good thing, and getting rid of it for a lesser alternative lol

Yeah, this is why I was wondering. I saw he was rumored to be in the running for that position, but certainly never understood why lol

    The rivalry is back on

I think it makes sense tbh

If Carthon and Vrabel don’t work well together, the situation there was only gonna get worse. Get someone on the same page as the GM, maybe go a little more bare bones next year and lean into the weirdly hard 4th place schedule and hopefully come out with a higher ceiling than the late 2010s Titans in 2-3 years

wonder if this expedites Belichick moving on and Vrabel taking the reigns in NE

fascinating what might be going on behind the scene (if anything)

I think Vrabel is a good coach. I also think it’s a laughably poor decision from the Titans to fire him, unless Vrabel simply wanted out. I mean, the former GM traded AJ Brown in 2022, much to Vrabel’s disgust, and the decision was framed as the GM vs Vrabel. Then the GM gets fired in the wake of Brown torching the Titans and it seemed like Vrabel was the guy calling the shots. Continued to seem that way when the Titans signed Hopkins in the offseason, a move that indicated that they felt they were still competitors as opposed to rebuilding.

Like I said, maybe Vrabel wanted out. Maybe he didn’t want to be part of a rebuild, but I don’t necessarily buy that considering his interest in NE, unless that’s just a personal thing since he used to play for NE.

    Weird move.

Its a GM problem in TEN, not a Vrabel one imho

drafting Willis and then immediately Levis was always weird

Vrabel is a competitive dude, he was never gonna let that team truly bottom out

Is that Titans job now the least desirable?

Nothing can be worse than Carolina with that owner, roster, most likely the QB, and no 1st

    idk, it’s two different regimes

Robinson took Willis and Carthon took Levis

also Willis barely looked capable of completing a forward pass in his rookie season, so I don’t exactly blame them for evaluating based off of that and concluding that he is likely not the QB of the future

I don’t really have a strong opinion on whether the GM is “right” or if Vrabel is “right”, but I’d imagine Carthon wants to take a step back on this 6-11 team now that they’re at a crossroads and re-evaluate the approach/roster/long term outlook and that Vrabel wanted to patch the holes and go full steam ahead, so I can see where there would be an impasse

I personally wouldn’t want to start a rebuild in year 7 of my coaching tenure, nor would I want to get my one GM job shot and be stuck with the inherited coach and roster build that the previous guy did without the option to reset when it’s probably needed to do so

Did any Titans fans want Vrabel out? He always seemed like a guy they were gonna just ride or die with for a long time. Like, he’s never seemed like the problem.

I'm pretty sure Aaron Rodgers isn't a football player, I think the Packers went from Favre to Flynn and now Love
