i drove a 2000 ford escort from like 2006-2018 until it stopped running. from about 2011 on, i had to jam a number two pencil into the gear shift console to be able to engage the gear shift from park into reverse. it fucking sucked but it was all i could afford at the time. had one CX5 for lease from 2018-2021 and then bought my current one then. i wanna say the lease model was a 2018 and my current is a 2020.
