Yeah Ridley really shouldn't be that expensive coming off the season he had, and a suspension. Should be able to grab both if we can and we absolutely should. Ridley is still better than Zay, and having Higgins and Ridley on the outside and giving Kirk one on ones in the slot all game? That's how they can improve whatever the fuck they've been trying to call an offense. They can figure out the cap. The Saints AND the Rams did it. So did the Bucs. The Jags can do it too.

I’m so sad you invoked the Saints and the Rams. Randall, please don’t do it. Please lol.

    The rivalry is back on

Ridley is going to be very expensive I’d think. I can’t imagine he’d re-sign with JAX to not be the highest paid WR they have

I don’t think the suspension will have much, if anything, to do with how much he’ll make. I think his production and age will be larger factors. He just turned 29 and is going to turn 30 in December. I don’t think he’ll fetch a long-term contract. Probably a one-year, maybe two-year, deal. That may drive his price up further since it wouldn’t be spread out through three or four years.

    there is one way out

He also publicly doesn’t like the Steelers or football, so he just tries to stir the pot as much as possible. For someone who claims to have a “super genius” IQ, the dude is an absolute dunce. Jagoff, even.

This was already my goal with DeAndre Hopkins a whole offseason ago but I was told he’s washed and injury prone and not worth his contract!

Doesn’t change the fact he’s balling out with a carousel of two backup level quarterbacks (and a third one that will be out of the league in a year or two)

lol but for real Spears is 3rd on the roster for receptions and targets, only Okonkwo and Hopkins have more

I'm perfectly fine not being the team to always bet on injured 30+ year olds

Spears has 22 more targets than the next WR!! And then Henry is 5th lmao

Like if he can do 1100 yards and 6-7 touchdowns with those quarterbacks, on a team that’s too conservative to ever go pass-heavy, where he attracts all the double teams, imagine what he could’ve done for Trevor when our offense is struggling

He was never that injured though. And sure the average 30 year old receiver might decline, guys on Hopkins level though? Hopkins is a top 25 receiver all time, he just passed Jimmy Smith on the rankings. Guys like that tend to still be good in their 30s

I don’t think Hopkins would have posted many more numbers with the Jags than he has with the Titans. Jags clearly have more mouths to feed that are worth feeding targets to than the Titans

Hopkins would have been what Marvin Jones was for us last season imo

Yeah but my point wasn’t that he would post higher numbers, it’s that he can do a lot with a little and still be successful with a struggling QB. Woulda been great to have him as a big play magnet and a red zone / third down security blanket, our offense has sputtered a lot

Yeah, with the benefit of hindsight, the Jags probably should have signed Hopkins, but if their process was “We’re not in the business of signing a 31-year-old WR to be significant part of our passing game” then I understand and respect it

He would've been better than Zay for sure but he hasn't been THAT good this year

Yeah, I’m just salty cause I pounded the table for him and was bullish he’d be fine and still be awesome this year, & I wasn’t wrong. But it’s not exactly bad business that they saw it as a risk, even if I didn’t agree

His contract isn't nearly as bad as it could've been. Wouldn't have been crippling

I actually agree with Randall on Hopkins. Wow.
