Im still very on the fence. For one thing we’re still reliant on washed veteran Brandon Scherff and we also have a rookie tackle who’s had a spotty / rough season like any rookie tackle, but is improving. Our center and left guard have not been the kind of names people will remember if they’re not Jags fans, is anyone expecting Fortner to be a world beater? Ezra was a bargain but he was only available cheap because of his inconsistent play - and yet, “inconsistent” was still an upgrade lol

The biggest disappointment to me on the OL has probably been Walker Little not being as good as I thought he might be, otherwise we can’t be shocked when the line is playing bad at this point.

But just because the line stinks even worse without Cam doesn’t mean he’s a franchise left tackle. We should set that bar higher and draft another tackle this year tbh

 

We could draft one late but it's a waste to pick one early. Replacing Fortner/Scherff should be the priority

 

Don’t you think it’s easier to hit on IOL in the middle rounds than tackle though?

 

Yeah they need to get a ball winner in the end zone. Don’t think we could re-sign/tag Ridley and Josh and get one of the top guys like Higgins or Pittman. Would probably have to be through the draft or maybe someone like Gabe Davis?? Can’t imagine he’s going to be demanding a ton of money on the market.

I do not. And Cam also isn't playing nearly bad enough to warrant replacing, especially factoring in his leadership. JPJ on the other hand is as good as Linderbaum and Creed.

 

If we don’t keep Rid though, throw the bag at Higgins if he doesn’t get tagged.

I feel a million times better if we had Higgins / Kirk rather than Ridley / Kirk, that’s not a debate for me

my goal is to upgrade from Cam still, but maybe this year ain’t the year if an elite IOL falls to our pick.

 

The big thing is idk if any of those top guys don’t get tagged if they can’t sign a deal. Higgins might not but it could go either way, Evans is likely the only one who doesn’t. Would think Pittman almost certainly will.

 

I just think teams that are serious about protecting a franchise quarterback, and want him to play for them and be healthy for 15+ years, HAVE to do a lot better than Cam haha. If Cam could play right tackle and focus more on moving guys outta the way I’d be cool with that, but I don’t love his footwork and Trevor’s blind side protection is not great.

 

I'm fine with extending Cam. Even if he's just aaverage, that's good enough when factoring in his leadership. Everyone seems to play better with him in the game too

 

Higgins is probably tagged and Pittman is re-signed imo

 

Man if Mike Evans or Tee Higgins is on the market and the Jags refuse to do either imma be so fucking annoyed lol

 

Our defense needs help, particularly interior defensive line help, but I feel bullish they can play a lot better than they have the last few weeks with better coaching decisions - and that’s our younger side of the ball as well so they’re still having growing pains.

my primary goals this off-season are to get Trevor a great weapon in FA and to improve that OL in the draft. Period.
