My gear list:

 

always wanted an orange amp but never had the money lol

 

But this is why I don’t have a PS5 or work out in a gym or go on expensive vacations or have normal people hobbies basically, I spend all of that disposable income trying to have a room filled with exactly the gear that I want haha. I’m almost there I just need more recording gear and a bass cabinet at this point. Everything in that list is stuff I’ve stoked to have, I’ve pretty much already sold the stuff that isn’t as good that I don’t need anymore

 

Eventually i guess I could upgrade my keyboard to a Nord, upgrade my acoustic to a Taylor, and upgrade my Orange amp to a better Orange or a Mesa or maybe even a Matchless.

But that’s not remotely necessary, trying to record music with the gear I already have is the priority. I’m more than happy with my Vox and my Ashdown bass amp as far as “dream amps” go; I have my main axe locked down (the Tele) and my acoustic has a unique sound that I’m still good with; I’m happy to use my actual piano if I want a better or different tone than my keyboard

 

Why'd y'all get punished like that

 

Jk I opened for much more awful bands than that

 

I don’t think I could even gig with a Matchless, I’d be too worried about someone stealing it the whole time.

yea haha - hawthorne heights was pretty easily the biggest show were ever a part of. anthony raneri was there and stood right off the stage as we were playing so it was an immensely surreal moment kind of playing TO him hah

think it was in like 2011? small long island club maybe like 500-600 people total

 

i cant reaaally speak for it now because im no longer really a part of it but, the long island music scene used to be amazing. there were some really REALLY good bands that were huge on the island but never quite made it out. one i can think of was Gabriel the Marine, they toured with TBS briefly and were probably the only band not at that TBS/BN/Envy/Movielife tier to get big off the island.

local bands were always given opportunities to open larger shows, so by no means am i saying the reason my band was on these shows was because we were significantly better than others, we just got the right persons phone number at the right time.

i miss playing shows and going to local shows. most bars and clubs dont take chances on local music anymore and just hire established cover bands.

I've got a Yamaha acoustic that my grandmother bought for me in the 9th grade because my school didn't have left-handed guitars. I've got a basic Peavy bass that I got for $100 because the music shop owner said i was the first person to ever ask about it and he was tired of looking at it. My electric is a custom jazz/partsmaster. My amp is a Vox WhateverRandallToldMeToGet

 

depends on the era. johnny used a jaguar as often as he used a rick. but yeah, there are definitely a bunch of people that use them. hell, Laura Jane Grace uses them for against me even though they don't have that sound at all lol

 

Yeah LJG and Brian Warren from Weatherbox both use em.
