Daniel Jones is not and was not worth the money he is being paid. I have no issue saying that. I just don't blame the Giants for doing it for thinking they saw enough last season to think the investment was worth making/risk worth taking.

 

Also, “a non top 10 QB shouldn’t get paid like a top 10 QB” is true in a vacuum but not over a series of time. If you’re getting the same salary but signed 2 years after that top 10 QB, that’s not a top 10 QB salary anymore

 

You won't have your mind changed on it cuz that's your thing but we've seen plenty of documentaries on why having that extra money can be extremely important and also about how much players sometimes have to shell out for things you would expect them to not have to pay for. Hopkins has talked plenty about surgeries he's had to pay for and how quickly shit adds up. It's not outlandish to want more.

 

Also yes this, Lawrence being paid like QB1 in 2025 or whatever doesn't mean he'll still have QB1 pay in 2026 or 2027

Those players should just get paid more too then IMO, I don't think Lawrence getting paid more prevents that if your GM isn't dumb, considering that's their main job
