my sister is currently trying to plan a trip with my mom and her husband somewhere out of the country next year. my mom hasn't like, ever gone on vacation anywhere other than Hawaii (and that was for a wedding). My sister keeps recommending places like Rome and my mom is just like "ok, but what will we do when we get there?" like she's unable to just fathom going somewhere overseas and not knowing what to do

just look at the roads and aqueducts mom they're 1,000 years old !!!!!

 

my 6'6 friend went to Italy for his honeymoon 5 years ago and said he had a miserable time trying to shower everywhere they stayed

And even if it makes you feel a little anxious I think regardless where you go you should have some form of “randomly stumbling onto some shit” for it to be a true vacation. Like, literally just go to the French Quarter or Marigny and walk around. You’ll see live big-band music and jesters and all kinds of shit just in the streets, the architecture is definitely reminiscent of 1800s france, you’ll randomly walk into a great soul food restaurant…. Even if you go to St Louis you should spend a couple hours just walking around
