Sam Howell:

Put up very similar numbers to Trevor Lawrence during his college years. They played in the same conference, in the same era, and have a similar sample size of games (Lawrence slightly more). Howell was highly rated before his final college season and many thought he'd play his way into being a top 10 pick. But that didn't happen because he had a "down year". I'd argue his team had a down year, not him.

His passing yards went down, as did his passing TD total. However, it's worth noting that he lost his top weapons to the NFL prior to his final season. He did not have a lot of help in the passing game. So what did he do to improvise? He rushed for 800+ yards and had 11 rushing TDs. The season before he barely rushed for 100 yards. He found a way to carry his below average team to a .500 record.

I have no clue why he fell as much as he did. Me and Matt have talked about it several times. And he didn't just fall. He was the last QB of the bunch that people were talking about to get picked lol iit was absolutely absurd.
