On the Lance thing, it’s entirely possible that the Niners’ asking price from teams without noteworthy QBs was too high and they had to settle for offers from teams that had firmly entrenched starters.

Again, the Niners did a lot of the heavy lifting in tanking Lance’s value. If they weren’t sold on Lance, they should have traded him six months ago before teams went through their entire offseason programs where a lot of development and chemistry takes place.

It’s silly to think like “Man, the Bucs should have traded for Lance!” Why? They’re likely going to be bad enough to be looking at the top QBs in the draft anyway. What do they care about trying to squeeze whatever juice is left out of Lance?

I hope so too. Considering Evans’ injury history and Brown’s inexperience, I would prefer Edmunds to be a starter for them.
