I will always drink the tears of Bulldogs. But for real… anyone who thinks Stetson deserved the Heisman is a lint licker.

    Yeah. Sounds pretty dire.

  7. Bill Snyder just tweeted that Mike Leach has passed and immediately retracted it.

It feels inevitable that the news will break, but Twitter is such a cesspool of rumors and fake news. I imagine Mississippi State or a reputable journalist will make the official announcement once his family confirms something.

But it just has me thinking, has any coach ever died while actively coaching? Nothing I can recall in my lifetime. At least not at the D1 or NFL level.

florida is one of the ones, along with wisconsin and ND, just getting attached to every QB available bc the depth is so bad. seems like there's actual connections with auburn

I can't remember but I believe it was off-season. Pat Fitzgerald took over for him afterwards and carried a solid legacy for a bit.

I know a lot of folks had some hard feelings towards Leach because of the Craig James stuff, I get it. But I grew to like the guy in recent years. He made Mississippi State interesting. Seems like his players, fans, and colleagues loved the dude. Sad stuff.

Love him or hate him, the football world just lost a giant.

I'm as anti Air Raid as they come but he had some really fun offenses over the years.
