Anthony Richardson going pro. This dude stinks, but I guess someone will fall in love with his combine workout and he’ll go higher than he should.

Didn’t expect CFP players to announce for the draft and sit out. I’d be so pissed if they were a teammate. Any other bowl? Sure. But a natty is on the line.

this about the OSU receiver? The article I briefly skimmed on espn makes it sound like doctors won’t clear him to play.

yeah and idk, I don’t hold it against players wanting to sit out or not. If I had that talent skill wise I’d definitely rather set myself up better financially long term like being a high pick in the draft, or being worried about some possible freak traumatic accident in a college game and possibly crippling draft stock.

It's a deep argument but idk, I agree that in a team sport, it would certainly be disappointing for a teammate to abandon everyone right before the moment everyone worked hard for. I felt the same way about coaches who fuck off before big games too

Do I get jt? Yes. Do I like it as a sports fan? Not really.

Yeah my thing with the skipping bowl games cause they don't matter argument is like, ultimately if you're going to be a high pick none of this matters. The CFP doesn't matter more than a Holiday bowl in terms of your financial/professional future so if we're saying I understand skipping one of the lesser bowls because guys shouldn't Risk their future livelihood for a college game, I don't see why playing for a chance to win a college title is any different when ultimately that's not going to do anything substantial for you either

I don't like it but not gonna judge a kid for skipping any game and giving that reason, I just don't get this line in the sand people draw where its like oh obviously you'd skip THAT bowl, but its crazy to skip the playoff

Because in sports and for competitive people id think something like "the championship" is ultimately the point. Your stock and your well being is number 1 to yourself, where I think 2 is winning.

No one dreams of the papa John's bowl. Hey id like everyone to finish out the season...players and coaches... but I'm not unrealistic.

JSN has barely played all year. Nows not the time to try to get back up to speed for a game

Oh I totally agree, I think its a huge bummer when you're in the bowl game and look up and are starting 6 new guys on both sides of the ball. Just playing devil's advocate and taking that argument to its extreme. Feels like most players want to stick with their guys and see the season out, I think my issue is more with the people who inevitably will call guys idiots for wanting to be there with their teammates, its a really gross patronizing thing that happens every bowl season

this is idiotic. He sucked this year, but has all the tools. You figure he might get picked with a day 3 selection or he could come back a season, harness some of his potential, and be a surefire first rounder. If not, still end up on day 3 if some OC wants a project.

Colorado is hiring the current Kent State head coach to be their offensive coordinator.

I wonder how many times a head coach has left their current job for a new position elsewhere that is essentially a step down as far as job titles / status of football coaches go.

I knew Hooker wouldn’t make the final four after he got injured despite earning a spot, but slowly starting to believe like RG3 wouldn’t have made it if he had his Heisman winning season this year or the last few because 9-3 was the team record. Team results are beginning to affect individual player awards more every year.

Sooooo many transfers. Im still deciding how I feel about this new era of college football free agency. Its kinda fun, especially as a gambler, and of course they're kids and need to do what's best for them going forward (it remains to be seen if it helps all that much).... but transferring a few times in your college career is a little, hmm, a little silly. Some of these kids are having grass is greener syndrome.

I guess my question is why would Spencer Sanders leave ok state? His stock and whatever future he sees for himself feels pretty safe if he stayed in Ok State (or straight to nfl). I can't see the cowboys wanting to move on.

It’s pretty out of hand for sure considering the percentage of players who enter the portal and don’t end up finding a new school, feels like a lot of guys are gonna end up in a much worse position than they were in.
Why someone like Justin flowe would transfer after two injury seasons and pretty average production as a starter this year is beyond me but I’m sure someone is selling him a dream

Can players enter the portal but go back to the same school if they want, or do they need to choose a new school if they enter the portal? And I guess like, is the portal the official “allowed” time players can talk to other schools? I’d assume most changing schools is to get more playing time but maybe it’s more than that and also not sure when/how a player could talk to another school about that outside of once saying they want to transfer.
