I don't think he was signing anywhere other than Los Angeles. It wasn't really a basketball decision (although he is close with Ty Lue) -- his family is based there, and that's where his kids go to school.

I discovered that one of the Beach Volleyball players for Team USA that qualified this year used to be a small forward for the Rockets and the Timberwolves . Chase Budlinger. He switched to Beach Volleyball after he retired from the NBA, now he is one of the top ranked Beach Volleyball players in the world. That's so cool.
