Eh I kinda buy that. Not so much they shelved him, but if they were down in the series or if it went to 7 he could have played. But no sense in risking further injury imo.

 

Coming back if he was ready in game 5 knowing the series was likely over and knowing he’d have all this time off again I think it’s possible they said let’s just get him in practices and give him more rest in between

JJ can probably be good but it’s just funny how it’s like guy that has never coached before gets the biggest opportunity… like what if he’s a good coach but the drama of it all just ruins his coaching career. But then again it’s the NBA and like the same 5 guys who always lose still get jobs
