Few things that are not accurate here but Ime is the one who pulled the plug on it. Didn’t think James fit how he wants to play.

I assumed Udoka's hiring coincided with Houston's interest cooling in general, but this makes so much sense. That also gives a little more insight into what he wants, which is seemingly max money and not to pass the ball anymore.

Max money, yes. Last part, no. He’s very much not wanting to be relied on to score 30+ a game anymore. A reason why he left here amongst wanting to go to a title contender.

It's the closest they'll get to the championship trophy.

(It's actually because Nurse wanted to train at elevation.)

According to that report he told Udoka he wanted to come back to Houston and win the scoring title.

Yeah, that’s Stephen A who isn’t always a reliable source. People who would know here said they never heard that part so to take it with a grain of salt

stuff like that is truly so cringey to me, i would say the same regardless of the team the player was on

So you wouldn’t care if your family and child got uprooted out of nowhere?

Be fucking sympathetic. They deserve the right to prepare their children for a move like that. You don’t know how their kids are with change, and no amount of money can stop a child from shutting down in situations like that. It’s not that hard to tell them they’re open to moving Jrue so they can be ready.

I’m sorry that happened to you that doesn’t mean you should be an ass about somebody else. No two people have the same experience, regardless of how much money their parents make.

Lauren was an athlete too and is not unfamiliar with the situation of getting moved with minimal notice, so there may be a reason she’s upset that we don’t know about. I just I feel it’s useless to criticize them for being upset/disappointed about this.

i appreciate it but i don't need you to apologize because it simply isn't that big of a deal? moving happens? hundreds of players in all sports get traded every year and don't write some cringe to throw up on Instagram and stir up pity. also i feel for the kids, but the majority of that post/statement/whatever isn't even about the kids lol, it's about her and jrue. i simply do not have sympathy for the two of them being confronted with moving in an industry where moving a ton is baked in.

and come the fuck on lol the majority of the people in this thread complain constantly during the season about players on the team they root for and hoping for them to no longer be on the team, you think those people aren't also uprooting their families when they eventually get moved? fuck outta here lol

I get that but that doesn’t mean the practice of getting told you’re moving tomorrow is just. I just don’t think it is helpful for anyone to call the party involved out on a statement like that.

I get part of the problem is the predatory nature of these people like Woj and Shams trying to get the news out first from unnamed sources so I don’t even necessarily blame the teams alone right off the bat. It’s just a shitty part of the job but I don’t think we need to criticize the actual people involved for calling the practice out.

I’m intrigued/curious of the “behind the scenes” of how lives are changed for families when trades happen in terms of how the normal day to day things get taken care of.

Find somewhere to live, find a school for the kids, how far away is the school from home, where are the grocery stores, finding a new dentist/doctor/mechanic or auto shop for oil changes/repairs, nearest vet, updating shipping info / address for mail/orders, setting up new accounts for the house/apartment items (electricity, water, gas, etc.).

I imagine players with high salaries may hire someone to look into this for the family but certainly not every player could afford that. Or maybe the team has someone that can help with that or at least point them in the right direction. I thought I saw a documentary or something that talked about this kind of stuff / each franchise has a concierge type of person to help players and families new to the team/city get adjusted but blanking on the name of it.
