Delon Wright thrown to the wolves tonight with his first game with Miami being a start. I’ve been super impressed so far. Love his hustle on defense and he’s made some great passes on offense.

 

That's such a wild call against the Pistons, he just got tackled basically

 

Glad to see Jaime getting on a roll scoring wise tonighr. He’s been on a bit of a slump since his injury.

Miami seems to show resilience any time their top guys are out. Highsmith and Martin hitting threes, and Jaquez finally back in his groove.

Lost a parlay and an Underdog play because Jaime didn’t get over 2.5 assists and Duncan didn’t have over 16.5 pts, wish they would have just switched their stats lmao

 

Genuinely one of the worst (no) calls I've ever seen.

 

I hate almost every pair of announcers in the league. The Bulls announcers were being so fucking obnoxious about fouls. They whined every time a Pelican breathed on them but didn’t acknowledge any bad calls going the other way - this was a game where the Bulls got more than double the free throw attempts we got.

Are the Pelicans announcers the only ones who 1) acknowledge when their own team got away with a foul 2) simply laugh and don’t get real whiney when the refs make a bad call

 

Losing was definitely our fault, there was a big chunk of the game where we could’ve pulled ahead by double digits but kept taking bad shots, and letting the Bulls speed up our natural pace instead of looking for better scoring opportunities. CJ McCollum’s leadership has been sorely missed the last two games against good Eastern Conference teams. I’ve accepted that the NBA simply “lets opponents play” against us cause it’s very hard to defend our size / length without mild fouls and it would ruin the game if they called every single one.

But at one point I just muted the TV cause I cannot stand when announcers bitch and moan about weak shit, but say absolutely nothing when Zion gets knocked onto the ground mid layup with no whistle. If you’re going to shrug your shoulders at Zion getting Zion treatment then why you whining about somebody softly tapping the even bigger Andre Drummond’s forearm. Keep that same energy both ways.

 

Lisa Byington and Marques Johnson are two of my favorites to listen to, I may be biased because theyre literally the Bucks announcers but theyre IMO extremely fair and honest and call a great game, they can both be extreeemely critical of the Bucks when it calls for it and be enthusiastic about the other team when they play well.

 

This is the last season for Mike Gorman for the Celtics, which is truly, truly a bummer for me. Total legend behind the mic.

 

Yeah honestly the Pelicans announcers are the same way. They make basketball way more enjoyable and informative to watch, than the majority of others I’ve heard so far in the last two years of me getting back into basketball. It really makes a huge difference when they can acknowledge their own bias about fouls and give the other team credit / give our own team proper criticism when they’re just getting beat.

Antonio Daniels is a LITTLE annoying cause his voice and he’s a fast talker, but his strategic analysis is always dead-on accurate and very detailed / descriptive. He reminds me of how Tony Romo is for NFL games lol. Joel Meyers, meanwhile, might be my favorite play-by-play guy in any of the sports I watch, and that includes his uniquely super deep baritone voice haha

 

There is one hockey play-by-play announcer, can’t remember his name cause I don’t watch much hockey, but he’s been doing it forever and I think he has the long grey hair and an extremely Canadian accent, does a lot of nationally televised games

Mark Followill and Derek Harper w Skin Wade doing courtside for the Mavs is a fantastic trio

 

I've been watching sports so long my brain just largely tunes out commentators now. i'll hear bits and pieces but largely dont really notice they're even talking lol
