Rockets falling back to earth, Clippers and Warriors look bad, and the Pistons have been terrible but I didn't notice the Spurs have also lost 14 in a row.

Wolves, Kings, Nuggets, Phoenix, and Thunder all look really strong in the West. Depends on matchups and injuries and luck, but I definitely expect 4 of those 5 to make it to the west semi's this year. Feels like every other team has more exploitable weaknesses, but hey, anything can happen in the playoffs.

Think Kings could be really interesting with one more piece. If they could package Barnes and picks for an upgrade like Siakam or Jerami Grant they probably become a real title threat. Like how Denver needed Gordon to really make that last leap. I don't think Keegan will be there for a few more years but if they can hold on to him too that's going to be a deep team that's hard to beat.

0-8 on the road is tough

I still expect OKC to slide down the standings a bit, their schedule has been really friendly so far.
Kings have only played 1 game against the East, going to be real nice once we finally get a few against the bottom 10 of that conference

Random tipsy Sunday night thought/discussion with friends earlier tonight - is basketball the sport that has the most “impact” by momentum/fans?

With how close fans are to the court, how few players are on the court (vs let’s say football) and how quickly plays/points can happen I feel like there is a big drop off to any other main sport (football, hockey, baseball) as far as how momentum can swing and carry a team.

    Yes.

Homecourt advantage is way more important in NBA than it is in MLB/NFL, imo.

  18. eh. depends on the team.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Soccer is 100% the most impactful home advantage

I still would put football above basketball as well

  20. i agree. basketball stadiums just sound louder on broadcast being smaller enclosed spaces. they don’t actually match the sound levels of stadiums 4x their size.

  21. i’m sure fans affect and pack out games at the Garden more than, like, Panthers games but a Chiefs game compared to a Nuggets game isn’t a real comparison.
