Even when Germany was up 12 I did not for one second think they’d win. Unreal.

I take a certain satisfaction in the fact that the two teams with the most NBA players failed to reach the finals.

Alright, I’m convinced we’re gonna see Artūras Žagars on an NBA roster next season. He struggled to score today but still had 17 assists in their final game today. Latvia finishing in 5th is just an incredible feat and he was a huge factor in that.

    Just a friendly reminder

    Canadian pride swelling rn.

I hope Dennis Schroeder can play as well for the Raptors as he did for Germany. He's the big question mark of the roster.

The USA Canada game was nuts. I really thought there’d be no coming back from that Bridges three to send it into OT but then USA didn’t have it at all.

The final was also great. I’m happy for Schröder, he always plays for Germany in the offseason so it was great to see him get that reward.

Fun tournament. Now for the long wait for the NBA preseason.

I’m wondering who ends up on the Olympic roster next year. Despite the disappointing result, I think USA still needs to bring back some of these guys for continuity sake. If anything’s been clear after 2019 and then this year, it’s that the rest of the world can exploit that lack familiarity.

From this squad, I think you to bring by back:

    Locks:

    Edwards
    Bridges
    Brunson

    Probably:

    Reaves
    Haliburton
    JJJ

yea, I know JJJ didn’t live up to expectations, but he’s still the reigning defensive player of the year and USA’s biggest roster gap is at center, so I think you keep him and hope the experience of this year helps in the long run. Though I think him and Reaves are the first on this list to go.

    Then I think you add:

    Curry
    Tatum
    Butler
    Draymond
    Bam

All those guys have Olympic experience except Curry (though he has two WC golds). Curry and Dray feel like locks with Kerr coaching. Bam would be a great defensive addition. Then there’s on more spot to play around with. I would love to see a guy like Mobley get a shot too. Adding KD would be great too, but i think he said he was done after Tokyo (don’t quote me on that). I wouldn’t be surprised if his recent injury history deters him as well.
