That’s usually how it is. The WR that I really love usually get resigned for a good reason haha

fortunately it doesn’t seem like it’s actually that hard to determine WR talent in the draft, the ones I love usually pan out save a couple. it’s just about prioritizing it properly.

the main mistake you can really make is assuming one guy’s way more elite than the others, reaching in the early first, and being wrong… because the WR talent in the late first / early second round is sometimes outstanding. (And it’s not always wrong! TB would take Mike Evans at 5 over and over again if they could. Miami definitely isn’t regretting taking Waddle early. Etc)

But if it’s your goal, it’s not that hard to come out of the draft with an awesome wideout compared to other positions.

 

Free agent WRs at this point are gonna be Amari Cooper, Allen Robinson, and the funky bunch

Yeah he’s the one I’m most interested in relative to the price and upside, but he’s certainly not without risk

I have burned by this so many times in the past (Hakeem Nicks, Funchess, etc) but I still want a Juju or a Christian Kirk on a short term deal pls

 

I also would take Gallup over Cooper. Have to imagine Gallup’s contract will definitely be cheaper and they’ll have many more years of good play from Gallup than they likely will from Cooper

 

Not to mention Lamb is gonna be eligible for an extension soon as well

 

Gallup is 26, Cooper is 27

 

What blew my mind is Cedrick Wilson is also 26

Didn't even know he existed until 2021

 

Ceedee is going to be the top WR there.
They can sign Gallup much cheaper than Cooper’s salary.
Wilson is a perfectly fine WR3.
