mascots do matter! The original guy who did Jaxson DeVille was a legend. They hired another guy who is also a stunt daredevil type and he still parachutes / trapezes into the stadium and shit but he’s nowhere near as goofy / hilarious with fan interaction as the long-time original mascot was

 

I hope they just have a random mascot in a Ravens jersey until he can come off IR. Go full on with the joke. Like being in random college and hockey mascots each week.

Curtis Dvorak, that was his name. 1996-2015 as the Jags mascot.

NFL rules about mascots were changed more than once at high profile owners meetings because of him and his antics. They showed a 10 minute video of mascot behavior perceived as “too disruptive” for the game and most of it was highlights of him

one time he pissed off Bill Polian (during his Colts tenure) and then the next rivalry game he brought a makeshift cage that he stayed in for much of the game to mock him

he’s also the one who pied a really obnoxious Texan fan in the face… which could technically be considered assault lol so maybe I shouldn’t think it’s funny but there’s video of it, no one was hurt, just shitface drunk and covered in whipped cream
