No one asked for it, but here is my Panthers projected roster breakdown for you all to enjoy.

OL (9): Ickey Ekwonu, Brady Christensen, Bradley Bozeman, Austin Corbett, Taylor Moton, Cam Erving, Cade Mays, Michael Jordan, Pat Eflein

- Baker is obviously a polarizing player, but there is absolutely no denying he is an upgrade over Darnold. Combine that with the massively improved OL and the offense should at least look competent, which is a major upgrade from last year. Foreman was a great pickup to backup CMC and is the type of back we've been missing for a few years. WR room isn't spectacular but perfectly fine with DJ being a legit #1 and a handful of other guys who can step up and have moments. TE is certainly the weak spot on offense and I'd like to see something happen there. Ian Thomas is great as a blocker but not sure if he can be a consistent pass catcher. Tremble still developing.

- The defense has been getting a lot of hype, but they are still very young imo. Haynes and Barno are two guys on the DL that I think will catch the eyes of a lot of people this year. But I think we need to and will sign a veteran up front. Big make or break year for YGM. DL is a fun group but my biggest concert on the defense. LBs will be fine. Luvu was solid last year and looks even better now. Brandon Smith looks legit and I think he'll be a starter at some point this season. Secondary is the strength of the defense. CJ Henderson has reportedly been one of the better players in camp, Horn is returning, and Xavier Woods was a sneaky good signing. Jeremy Chinn will be the defensive MVP for us.

Overall, we're better than we were last year. Still a pretty young team so not expecting a playoff run or anything, but also wouldn't be the most shocking thing if we snagged the last WC spot. I think we'll finish right around .500, not sure which side of that line it'll be though.

Stonehouse is very good.

 

I was hoping they got nostalgic and cut him loose instead. Kern as a local guy makes too much sense, but Sam Martin is interesting too.

Don't know anything about Martin as a holder but I don't think McManus or Prater had any issues that I know of so if he's been holding for his whole career I am on board with that

 

Unsurprising after he spent much of his time practicing with third-stringers

 

Also unsurprising, as his only chance at making the roster was really just as a kick returner

 

I love Mattison but seems like a weird move

they dont really have anything else behind him/Cook and he is a pending UFA...sounds more like "we dont really want to pay him, so come get him"
