Absolutely agree with that as the quote reads. If I end up being wrong, then fuck McDermott too. But I really can't find a good way to express how weird it was watching the video. He seemed to be legitimately uncomfortable and was really struggling to find the words to answer things which is just completely not how he usually is.

Maybe I'm just trying to find a sliver of hope in how the franchise bungled the whole situation.

I’m with you. He legitimately seemed shaken up and surprised by the whole thing. So either that was genuine or he needs to quit coaching and become an actor. The whole “pray of everyone” thing is just his Catholicism coming out but it definitely comes off as beyond tone deaf. The vibe I’m getting is that Beane was withholding info from McD but McD also didn’t go seeking info diligently himself. McD definitely has the higher moral standards though.

 

Wouldn't surprise me to find out that he was focused on camp and told Beane to keep him in the loop as needed while their guys did their investigation and then heard nothing on the issue until two days ago.
