might be funnier if he stays, they flame out in the playoffs again and then he leaves and the Packers get nothing since he’s an FA next year (at least at this point I think he is).

pretty sure I saw something about how the win % advantage that comes from getting the ball second in this scenario is higher than the advantage for getting the ball first in the current scenario

That makes sense, second team gets an advantage knowing what first team did and then we get a billion “go for 2 or not?” scenarios from first and second team alike where the second team has infinitely more information on what’s needed to win than first team

Yeah, but Im not really interested in fairness. You had 60 minutes to win the game. Decent chance you had a choice in the final few minutes to win the game outright. Take those opportunities, dont reinvent the game in overtime. Or if you're going to reinvent the game, at least make it fun like college does.

Guaranteeing two drives is a lovely way to strip the drama out of OT for the first 5ish minutes of the quarter. And also, if Team 1 can run out the 10min clock in the regular season, does the 2nd team get a possession still? So it still has a flaw...

I understand the "FG isnt enough" theory now that every team has a 50+ yard FG kicker, but even thats kinda soft.
