Yeah. We’re all being silly. But last night felt encouraging. I wasn’t surprised by the number of check downs and short passes, but I hope more intermediate and shots downfield come. For all the talk of the QBs, the receivers and RBs probably stole the show.

Of course but he was also playing with his third stringers. The fact that he was comfortable and commanded the team and made good decisions (other than the sack near the end of the game) is super encouraging.

Being snarky and saying well he played against the threes isn't a good critique. If you want to say he didn't push the ball down the field, needed better awareness on that 4th down sack, didn't go through all his reads, that's fine. He can only play in the opportunities given to him.

He's had a bad camp and it was nice to see him be effective. Not saying he will be a franchise QB or anything more than a tier 2 QB, but I'm excited about the possibility.

 

I’m not trying to critique him. I didn’t watch the game. I just wanted to know if he was shredding the twos or the threes, both of which I’d hope he’d perform well against if I’m a Steelers fan. Sounds like he did and that’s good. Hopefully he can surpass the goofballs ahead of him on the depth chart in that goofy organization
