I want people to do something for me. Look at the Lions roster and the Patriots roster and give me the total # of players in year 1-3 you are excited about for each time.

I was being generous when adding Uche and Strong. Thornton and Strange were horrendous picks that only BB can get the benefit of the doubt for making.

 

I mostly agree with the magnitude of difference between the two lists Elf did, but would cut both of them by like 50%. No offense to guys like Mike Onwenu who seem to be well on their ways to being serviceable starters, but I am not “excited” about any non-elite RG

 

I think Uche’s chances of being a strong contributor are dwindling. Being harsh I’d prob cut Onwenu from the list, too, unclear if he’s as good as he looked two years ago.

As far as the other two, I know they were considered reaches, but camp reports on Thornton have been glowing amongst a general avalanche of panic about how bad everyone else looks so I’m taking them with cautious optimism. It wouldn’t be the first time they missed bad on WR of course, but I think it’s questionable that Skyy would make the list for most without question. At some point, Bill deserving benefit of the doubt or not, until real games I trust the team evaluation above all else. We’d have Thornton on the Pittsburgh list if he was a Steeler as is rumored was their plan. (And yes I’m aware Pickens is having the reported best rookie camp of anyone haha.)

No disagreement with the point of the exercise being young Lions roster > NE. (Though again I come back to being concerned mostly with the Mac question this year.)

 

Tbh I can’t remember the last time New England had enough exciting young talent that I needed 2 hands to count them and they’ve always been good anyways.

 

They’ve always had Brady to hold them up.

I was thinking about this because I’ve been adamant that Detroit is on a great path and the Patriots are…not.

 

Like the only reason to be more excited about the Patriots than the Lions are they may have something at QB and they still have Bill.
