Yep, pretty much my thinking. Jon Gruden got 10yrs/$100mil guaranteed despite not having coached in nearly a decade and having flamed out in his time in Tampa. He did not have 5 straight 9+ win seasons, two SB appearances, and a 7-3 playoff record. Sean McVay could go make $100mil calling games for Amazon and come back as probably still the 3rd or 4th youngest coach in the league and have teams begging to pay him $15mil/yr.

Granted, I probably wouldnt be willing to walk away from that defense and the Stafford/Cupp combo, but, the money is certainly right to do so

 

I’m sure that offer will still be available to him every offseason. Coach till your 40 then cash out

 

It probably will never be as much as it is right now, after winning the superbowl.

When I play Madden franchises anymore, I play on Pro and turn off the salary cap. Not really interested in a simulation of reality (which Madden very much isnt), I want to draft a super team, trade half those guys when their contracts come due for several more 1sts I use to draft more studs, and be able to throw bombs on like 70% of my offensive plays

 

Lol this franchise is the first time I’ve played with injuries and the cap in FOREVER. I wanted to see if I could actually build around Mac.

 

I still play with injuries on, but, my god the number of times I take the same 2 or 3 injuries

 

Lol every single game my OL loses people to like shoulder bruises for one quarter. So annoying.

 

I cant think of a single NFL player I've ever actually seen miss games due to Abdominal Tears, and yet I lose about 20 games/season total between players going down from them.

Also, the game I lost every one of my QBs was a special one.

This is what it is imo. He might feel like he’s letting the team and his legacy down if he gives it up right in the middle of the prime of the roster. Not the same dynamic as the Bulls’ “Last Dance” for example where everyone knows it’s their last run

Madden injuries are mean. They never feel “random” it always feels like, here let me take your best player at the worst time to fuck with your momentum, but meanwhile never injure any of your depth, just hurt enough young stud starters that you are specifically trying to develop until its a realistic total lol

Im a little sad I also turned off the trade deadline my last few franchises...my favorite game to play was "my team is good enough I dont need these 3-4 guys" and then trade them to the worst teams for their 1st rounders. But the fun was triyng to figure out which team, off point differential and schedule, would give me the #1 pick.

Because in Madden, the #1 pick becomes the #2 pick, #34 pick, and a future 1st real easily.

 

We like to import and modify draft classes. Usually Matt does the editing and I go in blind. But this year we did the 2003 draft class and Matt didn’t have any picks because he traded them all lol. I worked hard to get in the draft spots I wanted… I took Troy Polamalu, Antonio Gates, and Jordan Gross

(Matt moved Antonio Gates up to be a first round prospect because……… that guy going undrafted is fucking silly lol)

I’m not buying all of the talk about this being a bad draft. Matt Miller keeps spinning that.

It’s a bad QB draft. All of the other premium position groups are loaded: Edge, CB, WR, OT.

The LB and TE classes are also great.

 

Feel like RB is pretty deep too

Maybe no Najee or Taylor but still

 

I feel like a lot of the “bad draft” talk has come from the QB angle, thus making it tougher for teams with early picks to trade down and take advantage of teams trying to trade up if there isn’t anyone the league feels is worth trading up for

If either of those guys start to regress that makes their situation even worse, I don't think people think about those types of things.. All I see on twitter is praise for Mickey Loomis.. I don't get it personally.
