I don’t think any of them bring any greater or equal value to Agholar. If they did, I’d bounce Nelson for them. But cleaning up 2022’s books doesn’t really make sense when at this point the roster is what it is. No premium free agents are coming to Foxboro this late.

 

According to Over the Cap, the Patriots would save nearly $10m in cap space by trading him at this point with just $5m in dead cap. Might not be a bad idea if they could get, like, a fourth round pick for him in return

 

If they can, go for it sure. But I’m not dumping him just to dump him when the best alternative is Wilkerson.

 

You don’t think they’d rotate Bourne and Thornton at flanker with Park at X and Meyers in the slot if they traded Agholor?

 

I think Bourne, Parker and Myers have all had the kinda injuries that don’t just go away (hamstrings and shit) and Thornton is like 82 LBs.

 

Honestly, his contract is kinda untradeable. $10mil base salary for a guy whose season on the Raiders seems to be a mirage isnt worth more than like a conditional 7th to a team with a bunch of cap space and multiple WR injuries. He just seems like the kind of guy that traditionally gets dropped after the 3rd preseason game in favor of like, a 9th OL or some potential stud 4th ILB or something weird.

If I was making pure cap space moves, I'd advise the Pats to find a team with cap space to make a Brock Osweiler type deal for Jonnu Smith. Dude has guaranteed money in 2023 somehow...

 

Yeah, he's probably not getting traded, but I don't think it's impossible that Agholor could end up in Dallas or GB, both of which have a need and space.

Rooting for Nixon or Wilkerson to make the team which isn't happening if Agholor sticks around.

 

Agholor could also end up being an in-season trade in the event of some other team suffering a significant injury at WR
