I don't mind Weezer pre Raditude but there was a 2 week period a few years ago where Keep Fishin was inexplicably stuck in my head and I was not happy about it

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2022/08/01/deshaun-watson-suspended-nfl/
    From the article:
Robinson wrote in her ruling that the NFL proved its case on all three points that it raised. The league proved, she wrote, that Watson committed sexual assault under the definition the NFL provided of “unwanted sexual contact with another person,” that Watson engaged in conduct that posed a genuine danger to the safety and well-being of another person and that Watson’s behavior undermined or put at risk the integrity of the NFL.
Robinson called Watson’s conduct “predatory” and wrote that, as a condition of his reinstatement, it is “appropriate” for him “to limit his massage therapy to Club-directed sessions and Club-approved massage therapists for the duration of his career.”

So she found that he committed sexual assault (which is by definition violent) and that he used his status to lure unsuspecting women into that situation but still only gave six games.

Yeah, its crazy. She basically got invited into a whole new disciplinary process and then said "well, it used to be 6 games, so lets go with that".

If Im the NFL, I appeal, make it 12 games with a big fine, and fire her (as they have the right to do).

She has a column from the start of training camp that is basically "well, the fans dont seem to care, and he's handing out jerseys to local kids, so nothing to see here!"

People need to BADLY get over the "well it is a win for the team" framing and realize these teams are made of humans

@Dinkleberg I subbed to the BGN podcast yesterday and started listening to their Training Camp pods, I like the guys doing it's and it's the perfect length. Going to try and keep up with it instead of listening to wrestling podcasts for 4 hours a day.

I guess it's a couple different people doing different shows on the same feed?

I know the two cases aren’t related but I just can’t help but feel the cruel irony of this judge issuing a slap on the wrist because she felt she was bound by nfl “precedent” (not a real thing!) just a few weeks after SCOTUS completely blew up actual Supreme Court precedent in striking down Roe and taking away a woman’s right to bodily autonomy

Yeah the feed is a bunch of different podcasts from the BGN website, but Brandon Lee Gowton (BGN) and Jimmy Kempski (Phillyvoice) are the best writers actually attending training camp and such. They usually only do one episode a week unless there’s a special occasion like training camp recaps.

Yes it was those two that I listened to and I highly enjoyed the training camp talk but also the banter that had nothing to do with football, so it's an A+ pod imo.

Definitely check out Birds With Friends then if you enjoy some Eagles talk and good banter! That and BGN Radio were my main two Eagles pods (along with another show through BGN that is no more because the hosts left for other gigs) for a while before I eventually leaned more towards just BWF.

Been hearing/reading positive reports from some Eagles beat writers on Marcus Epps so far in camp, which is nice to hear after Greg Cosell and some other guys who have watched him had positive things to say about his 2021 play.

The organization from the front office to the coaching staff to the players keep speaking highly of Epps and think he’s ready to be the guy at safety for them. Obviously, he’s still a projection, but the drumbeat keeps getting louder and I am cautiously optimistic now. Looking forward to watching him when I can and paying attention to him otherwise.

Would be huge for the Eagles if he develops into a good, full-time player for them.

Also, low key hearing that Vic Fangio has spent three days in a row at Eagles’ camp. I’m wondering if he’ll become a consultant for the team at all or potentially the future DC if/when (more likely when, if you ask me) they move on from Jonathan Gannon next offseason.
