It’s definitely egregious to rule a six game suspension based on precedent for this highly unprecedented situation.

Rodger may or may not want to extend this suspension, but in the end I think they’ll face too much pushback from the PA and probably the owners. In the end, his job is to be a meat-shield for the owners and I highly doubt they want to pursue this further

Everything about this situation has shown the systematic failures in this country to protect women from predatory men.

 

The nfl invented evidence to find footballs were deflated but they ignored over 20 womens’ testimonies in order to downplay a player’s serial sexual assault. Even worse, the grand jury proceedings appeared to do the same, not even calling the cop who wrote up the charges as a witness. Just another bad day for women in a tragic year

 

I hope all my league mates see this and fade Ekeler all the way to me.

 

I saw Zeke Elliott and Roethlisberger cited as precedent for a 6 game suspension for violating the Personal Conduct Policy, but wouldn’t those suspensions each be for a single incident? The judge looked at 5 counts out of like 24, so one might assume the very least of punishments if each count warranted discipline would be 30 games, 6 games for each of the 5 cases. I know that’s not how the suspension would be determined but 6 games is absolutely nothing. They get to rest their star QB during the easiest portion of their schedule and have him come back for a playoff push.
